Why is SEO a long term marketing technique and PPC is Paid and gives quick results?

The lifeline of any website is the Traffic. The amount of traffic you can generate for your pages or your website will tell about your success rate. And why wouldn’t be? We all know that this generation and the future one will be dependent on the online business.

What is better SEO or PPC? This topic was always a matter of debate. Now the question is which one is the better or which can truly help the site to increase its popularity?

SEO can be defined as Search Engine Optimization and PPC means Pay Per Click. Both give the same result but have different concepts and strategies. Both are an effective way of generating traffic, but should be used according to the needs. One may have the required method and the other may not.

  • Usage of SEO

You know according to the statistics, we can generate about 80% of the traffic for the websites through SEO. SEO campaigns targets in the most popular search engine like Google which garners more than 3.5 billion searches/day.

Here are the circumstances which indicates that you should choose SEO over PPC.

  • Need of consistent results:

People who work in SEO know about its circumstances, how to work etc. Those who work behind this know that it is not an easy task or just an overnight task to rank your page in the top list. If you attain good ranking then you can maintain your site’s position with just working on a consistent basis through SEO.

  • Need to increase the value of your website:

You need to increase the value of your website if you want to sell it for a premium price. To increase your site’s value, there are many factors that can contribute. Factors like, link popularity, site’s traffic, page ranking, search engine rankings. Etc.

  • Need to build an authority site:

What is an authority website? For a particular niche, it is a resource center. Those who are the content writers, they know more about it. For gaining maximum traffic in the site, the content writers add the URLs, through which by just clicking, you can enter the website for more information.

Through smart SEO planning you can generate great ideas for the content of your site. Remember, a great and unique content can help you in many ways.

SEO is not a work of “JUST CLICKS”. It needs a lot of genuine hard work.

  • Usage of PPC:

Let’s talk about the other part of this article.

PPC means PAY-PER-CLICK simply exclaims that if a user clicks on the ad you’re promoting, then you have to pay for every click. Google Ads, Bing Ads, and Facebook advertising platforms are the most popular PPC advertising platforms.

When you should use PPC over SEO?

  1. Desire of fast or immediate results:

If you are looking for fast results, like really fast, then PPC is all you need. Your ads will be clicked by millions and millions of people, if your PPC campaign will get approved. It works well with:

  • CPA Marketing
  • Product launches
  • Event focused marketing
  • Seasonal promotions
  • Online business campaigns

2. Highly sought out targeted traffic:

With PPC, you can target the audience based upon your decision. You can sort out the audience based on gender, age, income, marital status, educational level etc. Like for example, the most popular social media site Facebook helps you to target people on their hobbies.

3. For Non-SEO friendly websites:

If you work through SEO, then you definitely need the content. Lots and lots of content!  And your site should be regularly updated. If you want to do in SEO way then:

  • You need to inform the search engines that your site is relevant.
  • Search engines should keep your site in the top list.

Final Words

In my personal opinion, there should be no SEO vs. PPC. Both marketing methods have their own importance. So there shouldn’t be any one preference but rather both are equally important in the area of online marketing strategy.
